MASKS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED if unvaccinated, but are otherwise optional in the public areas of the office. We are following the lead of other health care providers in the area, but will update this as needed. Please have a discussion with your provider if you would be more comfortable to have them masked during your appointment.
With only the Federal Disaster Proclamation in effect Cedar Centre will need to transition all patients back to in person appointments. Phone only appointments will no longer be offered. If your insurance will still cover video appointments you will have to discuss that with your provider directly. 48 hour notice is required if you wish to switch your appointment from in person to video or you may be subject to a late cancellation fee and your appointment might be rescheduled.

CEDAR CENTRE IS A PRIVATE PRACTICE CONSISTING OF PSYCHIATRISTS, PSYCHOLOGISTS, SOCIAL WORKERS AND MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELORS. WE HAVE BEEN PROVIDING A WIDE ARRAY OF MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES IN THE CEDAR RAPIDS COMMUNITY AND SURROUNDING AREAS SINCE 1979.



IF YOUR INSURANCE STILL COVERS VIDEO TELEHEALTH BY A PRIVATE PROVIDER WE ASK THAT YOU CONTINUE TO USE THAT BENEFIT.

IF YOUR INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER VIDEO TELEHEALTH VISITS PLEASE CALL THE OFFICE SO WE CAN MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR YOU TO BE SEEN IN THE OFFICE.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT MOST INSURANCE PLANS HAVE DISCONTINUED PHONE ONLY BENEFITS.



Our FIRST suggestion is to check online for your insurance plan's COVID-19 FAQ and double-check their Telehealth Parity rules (not tele-doc or doctor-on-demand appointments) before calling customer service. If your insurance does not allow you to have virtual visits please call us.


Medicare and Medicaid plans currently have phone and video telehealth coverage through the end of the pandemic declaration.


YOU MUST CALL THE OFFICE TO LET US KNOW THAT YOUR INSURANCE WON'T COVER TELEHEALTH SESSIONS AND THAT YOU HAVE TO BE SEEN IN PERSON FOR THEM TO COVER.
