Ann has been working as a therapist/licensed independent social worker at the Cedar Centre since January 2008. She completed her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa, as well as undergraduate studies in psychology and aging studies. Ann has experience working in supported community living settings, adolescent residential treatment facilities, and community mental health. In addition, Ann worked as a research coordinator at the Iowa Depression and Clinical Research Center at the University of Iowa studying perinatal/postpartum depression.
Ann enjoys working with individuals starting in their teen years all the way through adulthood, and supporting individuals through life transitions. She uses a variety of modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, as well as insight-oriented approaches, and mindfulness. Ann's areas of work include, but are not limited to, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, life adjustments/transitions, parenting/child-rearing stressors, emotional regulation, and grief/loss.
Ann's practice is dedicated to telehealth. She enjoys the opportunity and flexibility to make therapy services accessible to those with busy schedules and/or difficulty making it into the office for appointments.
In her free time, Ann enjoys spending time with family, going for walks, listening to audiobooks, enjoying good food, and attending local music and theatrical events.
